As we touched on above, partial hospitalization is one of the many treatment programs that Tricare covers.
Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) combine many of the services offered in inpatient treatment with the flexibility of outpatient treatment. With a PHP, you come to the facility during the day for treatment and then return home at the end of the day.
The goal of partial hospitalization is to provide intensive support through services such as therapy, medication management, and other therapeutic interventions all in a restrictive environment, thus allowing the person in the program to practice and reinforce coping strategies in their daily lives.
Does TRICARE Cover IOP?
Another valuable service that Tricare covers is intensive outpatient treatment.
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), offer a more flexible treatment option for individuals who need structured support but do not require the intensity of a PHP. IOPs are typically designed for those who have completed a residential or PHP program and need continued support as they transition back to everyday life.
