Read BioOwen has amassed several years of experience in the field. His own journey began at 18 years old when he faced the challenges of opioid addiction. At the age of 26, he sought addiction treatment in Prescott, Arizona, successfully overcoming his addiction and emerging as a source of inspiration for others.
Today, Owen serves as the Co-Owner and CEO of Mana Recovery, drawing upon his personal experience to empower individuals on their recovery journeys. Having encountered his own struggles, he possesses a deep understanding of the obstacles faced by those with limited resources. Owen’s primary focus is to provide coaching, guidance, and mentorship to individuals seeking to overcome addiction and improve their lives.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Owen’s personal journey took a positive turn when he met his wife, Savana, a native of Maui, during their shared recovery process. They moved to Maui in 2022 and made a commitment to do all they could to enhance the recovery community on the island.

Today, Andrew serves as the Executive Director at Mana Recovery, where he oversees the program’s clinical, behavioral health, and administrative operations. His approach to care extends far beyond a client’s immediate time in treatment; he firmly believes it is essential to understand a person’s life before they enter the program and to prioritize robust maintenance and aftercare planning for when they leave.

Read BioCarmen Cook, LMFT, is a dedicated and experienced licensed marriage and family therapist with a passion for helping individuals, couples, and families overcome challenges and improve their well-being.
She specializes in complex trauma treatment, anxiety disorders, substance addiction, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
Prior to working with Mana Carmen served as the Clinical Director at Akamai Recovery and Maui Recovery, overseeing teams of therapists and counselors responsible for providing care to inpatient clients.
Carmen obtained her MA in Clinical Psychology from New College of California in June 2006. Her commitment to ongoing professional development is reflected in her specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a therapeutic approach widely recognized for its effectiveness in trauma treatment.
Carmen’s expertise, dedication, and compassionate approach have made a significant impact on the lives of her clients and the community. Through her leadership roles she has demonstrated her commitment to providing high-quality therapy services and helping individuals on their journey towards healing from addiction and personal growth.
Eric St. Onge

Read BioEric St. Onge is a dedicated Reintegration Support Specialist and an active member of the Recovery community on Maui. With a deep passion for helping others overcome addiction, Eric has been actively involved in the field for several years. His commitment to supporting individuals on their journey to recovery is reflected in his roles as the Public Relations Chair for Narcotics Anonymous and his involvement in outreach programs.
Having spent most of his life on the beautiful island of Maui, Eric has developed a profound understanding and respect for the local culture. His connection to the community drives his desire to serve as a bridge between those seeking recovery and the available resources, whether they are on the street or incarcerated.
Eric’s personal journey with addiction has deeply influenced his decision to make helping others recover his profession. He began experimenting with drugs at a young age and eventually found himself in a state of severe poly-drug abuse, facing legal troubles and experiencing complete dereliction. However, through residential treatment and the integration of the 12-Steps of Narcotics Anonymous into his daily life, Eric has been clean since October 15, 2019. This transformative experience has ignited his passion for sharing the peace and clarity that come with recovery, while spreading the message that anyone can break free from addiction and discover a new way to live.
Eric’s approach to recovery is guided by a combination of the 12-Steps, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and a deep understanding of the neurobiology of addiction. He believes in empowering individuals to develop the necessary tools and strategies to overcome challenges and build a fulfilling life in recovery.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Eric finds solace and joy in the water. He spends as much time as possible surfing with his partner, teaching people to surf, and dedicating his weekends to taking at-risk youth out for surfing experiences. Additionally, he is an avid supporter of Boston sports teams and follows the World Surf League closely.

Sydnee Powers
Program Coordinator
Read BioSydnee brings a wealth of local experience and a compassionate spirit to her work in the behavioral health field. A dedicated mother to two boys, she moved to Maui almost four years ago and quickly became an integral part of the local recovery community. Prior to joining Mana Recovery, she spent two and a half years working at a local lab, conducting drug testing for recovery clinics across the island, where she became a familiar and trusted face to many.
Today, Sydnee serves as a vital member of the administrative team at Mana Recovery. In her multifaceted role, she manages admissions and assessments while actively assisting with client care and care coordination. Her hands-on experience and deep connection to the Maui community allow her to seamlessly guide individuals through the essential early steps of their recovery journey.
At the core of Sydnee’s approach to client care is an unwavering commitment to kindness and a positive, “can-do” attitude. Today, Starr serves as the Client Care Coordinator at Mana Recovery, where she is responsible for connecting individuals with vital resources, primarily focusing on mental health services and ensuring clients receive the medications and care they need.
Having personally navigated struggles with mental health, substance use disorder, and incarceration, Starr understands exactly what her clients are going through. During her own journey, she dedicated herself to profound inner self-work, cultivating a continuous practice of recognizing the inherent spirit and value within everybody. This deep personal experience forms the foundation of her compassionate approach to care.
Starr’s unique philosophy is entirely focused on meeting people exactly where they are at. Drawing an unexpected but powerful lesson from caring for her pet pigeon, Peter Jenkins, she understands that many clients enter treatment with their nervous systems stuck in a “fight or flight” response, viewing the world with apprehension and fearing that something bad is going to happen. Because of this profound empathetic understanding, she is able to remain grounded and avoids taking client reactions personally, which uniquely sets her apart in the field.

Driven by a genuine heart to help people heal, Chevy is passionate about being a part of the life-changing recovery she has seen transform the lives around her.
In her role, Chevylee guides groups, teaches vital coping skills, and helps clients build the structure and accountability necessary for a strong foundation in long-term recovery. Her approach to care is centered on creating a safe, highly supportive space where individuals can be entirely honest and truly feel heard.

As a recovering crystal meth addict whose own recovery journey began at her first and only treatment center at Sand Island on Oahu in 1995, she deeply understands what it feels like to struggle and exactly what it takes to change.
